Artic adventures in style with MSC.
I love to travel - that's no secret, I'm always jetting off on the next great adventure. So when MSC Cruises told me about their new 14 night North Atlantic cruise, I was already onboard with going all aboard! But the more I read about the experience, oh boy. Hook, line, and sinker, they had reeled me in.
Sailing from Southampton, the trip includes highlights such as Reykjavik in Iceland; Alesund, Flåm, and Måløy in Norway; and Greenock in Scotland, this two-week adventure has everything. Whether you're looking to commune with nature, relax with some pampering, explore trendy boutiques, browse through museums, or get the adrenaline pumping through cycling, hiking, kayaking and more, there really is something here for everyone. Personally you had me at hot springs and spa treatments!
My previous trips with MSC have been so much fun, as they really do cover everything you could possibly need to make the most of your holiday. On board you have casinos, Broadway style theatres, bars and nightclubs, and an aqua park, making it fun for the whole family.
My favourite part about this cruise though? For those of us who find Southampton a wee bit too far to travel, this cruise also allows you to embark from Greenock for a 12 day itinerary!
Personally, it's hard to enjoy the first day of any holiday when I've spent anywhere between 7-10 hours travelling to the airport/docks. Battling traffic, and dealing with the "are we there yet" questions from the back seat just really don't scream relaxing, do they? So being able to cut that down to just 45 minutes from Glasgow, or just under 2 hours from Edinburgh means the holiday starts off with so much smoother sailing. Plus, the journey to Greenock is far more scenic and pleasing, compared to the dozen or so motorways required to get to Southampton.
And for all the foodies out there, you're in luck! As well as the main dining room on board, there are buffets, speciality restaurants such as steakhouses, and sushi bars; as well as lots of casual meal options. And that's just what's on board - there are so many choices for fantastic local cuisine in each of the amazing destinations. You know you've always wanted to try Iceland's national dish, hákarl - fermented shark. If that's a little too adventurous for you, there are lots of other amazing local dishes ranging from yogurt to fish stew.
This cruise shapes up to be one of the biggest and best adventures you could choose from, with a chance for some once-in-a-lifetime memories, all whilst sailing in comfort and style.
