I’m Lauren Murphy — a travel photographer, writer, and visual storyteller with a deep love for beautiful spaces, natural light, and meaningful adventures.

My journey behind the lens began over a decade ago after becoming a mum. Seeing the world through my children’s eyes — their curiosity, joy, and wonder — inspired me to pick up a camera and document not just places, but the way we feelin them. That instinct to capture emotion, atmosphere, and connection still drives everything I do.

Since then, I’ve built a career creating editorial-style photography and storytelling for respected travel and hospitality partners around the world. I specialise in design-led hotels, family escapes, wellness retreats, and immersive travel experiences — blending a modern lifestyle aesthetic with thoughtful narrative.

My photography is rooted in natural light, soft tones, and an editorial eye. I’m endlessly inspired by interiors, mood, and the quiet in-between moments — sunrise stillness, golden-hour linen curtains, the geometry of a beautifully lit space. Whether I’m capturing a luxury resort or a hidden local gem, I want to tell the story of not only how a place looks, but how it feels.

Alongside photography, I’m also a travel journalist, regularly contributing to titles including Country & Town House, Family Traveller, The Luxury Editor, Apartment Therapy, The Herald, and more. My work spans family travel, cruising, wellness, and design-forward destinations — always with a focus on immersive, uplifting experiences.

Today, I travel the world with my husband Colin and our two boys — Cole (16) and Carter (8) — always chasing a blend of adventure and stillness, from adrenaline-filled water slides to slow mornings in hidden corners of the world. Their curiosity continues to inspire mine.

And while I love the thrill of discovering somewhere new, I’ll happily admit my love language is a three-letter word: spa. Give me eucalyptus steam, a fluffy robe, and 90 minutes of silence, and I’m in my happy place.
